We don't just consult.
We get in the work with you.
Meet Tamara Steward
Before she consulted, she was inside these systems herself, as a leader at one of the nation's largest federal utilities and as a municipal executive leading large-scale institutional transformation. That firsthand experience is what separates her from most people talking about organizational change. She doesn't teach theory. She teaches what she survived.
Her client portfolio spans federal, state, and municipal institutions, including TVA, EPB, the UT System, and CARTA. Her work consistently puts her at the intersection of complex systems and the people those systems are supposed to serve, which is exactly where the hardest organizational work lives.
Beyond her consulting work, Tamara is a sought-after speaker who challenges leaders to stop performing productivity and start leading from a grounded, honest place. She speaks to corporate teams, academic institutions, nonprofit leaders, and conference audiences across the country. She is also the host of Strong Face, a podcast for leaders navigating the tension between caring for their people and operating inside systems that weren't designed with that care in mind.
She is also the author of Light It Up (2023). She holds an MBA from Bryan College, a BS from the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga, and credentials as a Project Management Professional (PMP), Certified Professional Coach (CPC), and Certified Diversity Executive (CDE).
About Spark the Firm
Spark the Firm is an organizational consulting firm built for leaders who are done with frameworks that look good on paper and fall apart in practice. We work with government agencies, nonprofits, higher education institutions, and mission-driven organizations to close the gap between strategy and execution, because that gap is where most organizations lose momentum, trust, and results.
We are not a firm that comes in, runs an assessment, hands you a report, and leaves. We get into the work. We sit alongside your leadership team through hard conversations. We build strategic plans your people will actually use. We help you identify what is broken, design what needs to change, and stay with you through the implementation.
Every engagement is different because every organization is different. What stays consistent is our commitment to honest diagnosis, practical solutions, and results you can point to.
What You Can Expect From Us
Every organization that works with Spark can count on five things.
Integrity
We tell you what we actually see, not what is comfortable to say. If the problem is different from what you came to us with, we will tell you. Our clients trust us to honor our word, operate with discretion, and hold ourselves to the same standards we help them build.
Excellence
We don't deliver work we aren't proud of. Our approach is thorough, our thinking is rigorous, and we hold a high bar on everything we produce. That standard doesn't move based on timeline or budget pressure.
Inclusion
We believe the organizations that perform best are the ones where every voice that needs to be heard actually gets heard. We bring that conviction into every engagement, every room, and every recommendation we make.
Passion
This work matters to us. We bring genuine energy and investment to every client relationship, not because it's expected but because we don't know how to do it any other way.
Truth
We value honesty over comfort in every partnership. You will always know where we stand, what we're seeing, and what we recommend. That transparency is how we help leaders make decisions they can stand behind.
